Are the colors in their wedding invitations supposed to be the same as the colors of your wedding?

I wanted to do my own invitations … is that bad taste? The money is not I just question whether it would be something fun that my boyfriend and I could do together. And it would add a personal touch to the process joint invitation. How much more personal can be obtained then handmade? Anyway, I was thinking it would be great to do all invitations a little different (for example: color of paper and ribbon color.) But I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use my wedding colors so customers know what to expect. No knows the label on the invitations. I have heard that it is not something you want to skimp on cuz that sets the tone for the wedding for your guests. Should I buy handmade invitations and to "save the date cards" in place (because they are less formal)?

I do not think it's in bad taste and I think it would be fun individual! I to do my own most likely, because I think it would be cool. I think making all the different calls would be really cool! I really love that idea! I do not think you really have to use the colors of your wedding, I think it is traditional, but good to start your own tradition! I love this idea and if you think that is a reflection of what you and your kid go for the girl! do not let "what is right" in the way of your creativity.
