Does anyone else think the new interest rate the bond sucks?

From 1 May, the interest rate for the series savings bonds reduced from@5.2% to 0.00%. It is, however, a .10% interest rate fixed for the life of the bond. Do you think once more as a rip off by the government U.S. is middle class?

I was surprised to find that they are correct here (Read more at the website linked below): Nobody http://www.treasurydirect.gov/news/pressroom/currenteebondratespr.htm said you have to buy savings bonds, I suppose. Your local credit union, the bank will be happy to pay more in the six-month CD.
